Excited About West Elm’s Collaborations with These Three Industry Influencers
I’ve always been a fan of West Elm – to me they bring “Brooklyn sophistication” to my home. Furniture quality is top-notch (I have West Elm furniture that survived three moves), design is timeless, and their sustainability values are in alignment with a brand I want to support.
So, it has been really cool to see some of West Elm’s recent collabs I’m loving with a few personalities outside of the interiors space.
The first collaboration I want to highlight is West Elm x Chef Marcus Samuelsson. I knew of Chef Marcus from his restaurant Red Rooster in Harlem and the collaboration makes perfect sense given the restaurant’s ambiance. West Elm launched a 32 piece capsule that includes everything from dining ware, furniture, textiles, lighting and art, all inspired by Chef Marcus’ Ethiopian heritage, Swedish upbringing and NYC home base. The capsule features a Scandinavian design feel rooted in earthy rich colors, which I found to be simple yet impactful. This collection is one I would definitely incorporate into my own home.
Next collab worth noting is West Elm x Eva Chen. Eva Chen is a powerhouse in the media world, currently serving as Director of Fashion Partnerships at Instagram. She began her career in publishing across several lifestyle magazines including Harper’s Bazaar, Lucky (she was the youngest Editor-in Chief), Elle and Teen Vogue. She’s also a published children’s book author. As she is a mom of three, her partnership with West Elm Kids focuses on livable furniture “that encourages kids to embrace their inner bookworm”. This collection includes furniture, rugs, pillows, blankets, storage baskets and lighting blending Scandinavian functionality merged with West Elm’s cool color palette and shapes. This is a collection I’ll be pulling from for the next redesign of my daughter’s room.
This final collab is one that I was pleasantly surprised with and am absolutely loving! West Elm collaborated with Christina Ricci on a magically influenced themed collection of home accents. Inspired by Christina’s career playing supernatural themed characters (including Wednesday Adams), the West Elm x Christina Ricci collab is a brilliant collection just in time for the Halloween season. The limited collection includes beautiful black marble candles, bowls, trays and an illustrated tarot card collection of the characters Christina has played. Let Christina be your guide!
I’ll be keeping an eye out on who West Elm partners with next!
